Our members have and continue to take training in SAR Fundamentals, First Aid & CPR(standard and wilderness), Navigation(map & compass and GPS), communications, lost person behaviour and civil emergencies. Some specific training is given to selected members to help them become search managers, low slope and high angle rescuers and course instructors.
This training like any other skill only remains sharp when combined with practice members give up valuable personal time to sharpen and refine the skill they have. No member is expected to perform at a level they have not been trained for or feel comfortable in and in fact they are expected to step aside in favour of another.
For current information on upcoming courses, to register for and request specific training consult our calendars and email our training coordinator.
