Become A Member - Application
Every member of Olds Search and Rescue Society is an unpaid volunteer who is dedicated to assisting others in distress. Our members are a diverse group of individuals who bring to the team a vast set of skills.
Members of the team provide all of their own basic gear for searches and surviving in the outdoors. The Team provides radios, a command post and some of the specialty gear and training needed for an effective and efficient search and rescue operation.
Membership in the Association is open to any member of the public who is prepared to invest the time and energy in being trained. A criminal records check is required and approval for such check forms part of our application.
Membership is open to any person who:Full Membership
- is 18 years of age or older,
- is a resident of the Province of Alberta and
- has successfully passed a "Criminal Records Check"
Youth Program
Olds Search and Rescue Society may operate a program for youth ages 14 through 17. The program will be implemented by the Director of Member Services under the direction of the Board of Directors. The primary focus of this program will be to give those youth who show an interest in SAR activities an opportunity to experience many of the aspects of search and rescue while keeping in a safe environment.
In view of our membership requirements we can only accept signed membership applications for investigation. Please feel free to use this application pdf or come to a meeting to pick one up and meet some of our members.
